Sometimes the previous Flash_.ocx doesn't get removed by the uninstaller, that is why Adobe suggests to Reboot TWICE after uninstalling.
You did just fine and glad you were able to delete the Flash10c.ocx from Macromed which I was going to suggest. Yes, I am saying the version you have is legit and you do not need to do anything else:-) It helps Adobe distribute the FP and it helps the websites.
